Calcis's geological engineering services develop an understanding of ground conditions of a site from desk study to project construction and its life.
Desk study syntheses available information pertinent to a region or an area to anticipate geological conditions at a project site. Such anticipation is used to identify features for further investigations and to design the project.
No single survey technique has been universally effective to understand ground conditions. All information, from desk study and site investigation should be interpreted into an engineering geological model. The objective is to give a synthetic view of the present understanding of the subsurface. This model may be used for risk assessment and planning of operations.
The engineering geological model must be adapted if new information becomes available, either from additional investigations or from works themselves.
